Frequently Asked Questions
Preparation, arrival, locations and times
Before we meet please email me a brief description of your child's problem. It is extremely helpful if you can also send copies of relevant correspondence and test results.
Please bring relevant medical records such as your child’s immunisation card (or ‘Red Book’) with you.
I do my best to keep to time, so please arrive at least 15 minutes before your appointment as you will need to complete a registration form before we meet.
If you are not familar with traveling in central London then please bear in mind that it can take much longer than you anticipate.
My clinics are held at three locations, the Portland and Cromwell Hospitals and London Medical. This my current timetable.

How long are appointments
A paediatric consultation involves a holistic approach, which includes a full history and examination of your child. I will discuss my diagnosis and explain what tests and follow up might be required.
I provide longer appointments than others, so that I can explore your concerns.
New patient appointments last 45 minutes. Complex consultations may require up to an hour.
Follow-up appointments are usually 30 minutes
Tests and prescriptions
If tests are required they can be undertaken on site and you will be invoiced directly by the hospital for these.
Private prescriptions can be dispensed on site or at your local pharmacy.
Follow up
With your permission, I will email a letter to you with a record of what we have discussed and also send a copy to your General Practitioner (GP), so that everyone is kept fully informed. I will also email copies of test results to you for your records.
Following an appointment I may ask you to keep me updated by email, for example if I have recommended a change of treatment
Once we have met, I am able to answer (brief) queries by email.
Cancellation
If you have confirmed an appointment and are not able to attend please give at least 2 full working days notice, by email.
With less notice I may not able to re-allocate your slot to another patient and you will then be charged in full.
Home visits
At present, I do not undertake home visits.
Advice for insured patients
You do not need Private Healthcare insurance to see me, but if you have UK insurance you will probably need a referral from your GP.
Before we meet please discuss any planned face-to-face or Skype appointment with your company, making sure that you have an up-to-date authorisation number. There are many types of policy, and a minority do not cover Skype consultations.
